Our construction crew wears many hats – and not always hard hats! We design, develop and engineer for both renovations and new construction, but we’re also thought leaders when it comes to financial oversight and team management. Plus, it’s our job to ensure all projects are done on time, within budget and with as little disruption to our residents and the local environment as possible. We have a skilled team, with extensive, diverse experience equipped and certified to handle our growing platform – and our industry-leading renovation scale.
Our commercial team focuses on creating a resident experience like no other through our amenities. Think distinctive resident clubhouses, state-of-the-art fitness centers, pristine landscape/hardscape, and more. This team actively supports our projects across the country, turning apartment complexes into communities people will want to call home. We’re not just a renovation platform, though. Our growing new construction team manages the design and development of our ground-up deals and our additions to and development of existing assets.
When it comes to our supply chain, we have an office in Shanghai where we oversee the design and manufacturing of the materials we produce to upgrade our communities – like custom cabinets, modern light fixtures, and high-quality hardware. By working closely with international suppliers, we make sure production is efficient and cost-effective – and has world-class craftsmanship. In fact, we’re so confident in our products that we market to other builders looking for a quality, bulk sourcing solution through our third-party sales subsidiary, CASK Industries.

At Cortland, our Operations team makes sure all of our communities are running as efficiently as possible so we can bring the highest rate of return to our investors. Once we acquire a new community, we assess its condition, recommend improvements and manage the takeover process. We’re always looking for ways to add value to our communities, improve the living experience and attract new residents.
On the Support side, we provide services that help the entire company function properly. Key areas like IT, revenue management and business intelligence all fall under our branch. We’re constantly working to streamline processes, increase revenue, decrease operating costs – and help Cortland run like a well-oiled machine.
